Easter Visit 2011
Below is the programme for the Easter weekend visit by our friends from Guipavas and Barsbüttel:-
Thursday 21 April:
German group arrives Gatwick 10.55am; coach transfer to Callington, arriving at the Saltash Road Car Park* at 5.30pm. At best they will have had a snack en route: we suggest hosts plan a meal.
Friday 22 April:
Excursion for German visitors to House of Marbles at Bovey Tracey; time in Widecombe (free time, lunch); return across Dartmoor. We anticipate that our guests will be happy to find lunch in Widecombe – there is plenty of good pub lunch potential. Please check with guests and, if necessary, provide a picnic. Departure 9am, return 5pm*
French group arrives at Millbay Docks, Plymouth at 8.10pm. Hosts are asked to collect their guests from the port.
Saturday 23 April:
Day with host families – time for shopping, visit to the coast ....? The choice is yours!
Evening in Callington Town Hall: 6.30pm reception with Town Council, followed by evening party with a buffet meal and entertainment by Callington Town Band and Canticorum. There will be a bar serving beers, wines and soft drinks.
Sunday 24 April:
Boat trip from Saltash to Calstock and back. Departure from Saltash pier9.15am, return 1.30pm. There will be time in Calstock for refreshments – or you may wish to picnic on the boat. You can buy drinks and snacks (crisps, chocolate bars, etc) on the boat. Hosts are asked to arrange transport to and from Saltash.
German group leaves* at 10.45pm from Saltash Road Car Park. Flight from Gatwick 7.10 am Monday 25 April.
Monday 25 April:
Excursion for French visitors – as Friday. Departure 9am, return 5pm *.
Evening: French group leaves from Millbay Docks, Plymouth at 10pm. Hosts are asked to deliver their guests to the port terminal building by 8.45pm.
* the German arrival and departure and all trips apart from the boat trip from Saltash will operate from the Saltash Road Free Car Park.
