Why twin?
Imagine making firm and lasting contacts with a family in France or Germany; visiting places and widening your outlook, not as an outsider but as a genuine visitor with your very own personal guide. Imagine sampling new foods and new wines, experiencing a culture different from your own.
Think of yourself welcoming people into your own home and introducing them to the delights of England, of Cornwall. Imagine realising that any differences that may exist are minimal; imagine laughing and joking.

Imagine being invited to a christening in France - or a wedding in Germany. Picture yourself sitting in your car at traffic lights in Guipavas or Barsbüttel and waving and smiling to someone you know as they cross the street in front of you, just as if you were at home.
Imagine swapping homes for a couple of weeks to really live your holidays like the natives do! You get invited round to a BBQ at your new “neighbours”. Just imagine counting someone from Brittany or from Schleswig-Holstein as one of your closest friends.
Twinning is about meeting people. It’s about introducing your family and your children into a world where people are tolerant of what is different, where people are creative about the differences.

NEW, YOUNGER MEMBERS SOUGHT
Twinning brings with it new and exciting experiences and can create such wonderful memories. As the years pass, it is becoming evident that a whole new generation is appearing for whom an involvement in twinning with other communities and cultures would enrich their lives. This applies to everyone but is particularly relevant for families with young children or teenagers who would benefit tremendously from experiencing life at first hand in another country.
To find out how you and your family might get involved, why not give Sue, our chairman, a ring and talk it through?
