Re: Twinning and the Coronavirus
From the onset of the coronavirus pandemic almost all twinning activities had to be curtailed, although the use of new technology meant that reduced contact was maintained via Zoom meetings - and even brought four nationalities together to celebrate a virtual Burns Night.
As a glimmer of light dawned at the end of the tunnel we organised an initial programme for 2022 and, after our postponed AGM in March, there followed the Annual Quiz later in the month and then we offered a new venture with our "April in Paris" evening, the chance to enjoy a three-course French-themed meal with entertainment with a Parisian flavour. This, together with an afternoon of "Smite & Strawberries" and a further afternoon Cream Tea have brought us back to a sense of normality.
On behalf of the committee I would like to thank you for all the support you have shown for twinning activities within our town and we look forward to seeing you again in happier circumstances in the not-too-distant future.
All best wishes
Sue
